In this episode, I share a concept I’ve created called Emotional Intolerance.
This is an experience that so many people have when they are initially learning how to regulate their emotions.
This can happen for you in the beginning of your healing journey or farther into it.
What it looks like is an inability to “feel good” when you’re in a ventral vagal state. Or you may be farther along your healing journey, you know HOW to self regulate and co-regulate but you’re finding it really hard to get up the polyvagal ladder.
It may feel like you no desire to do anything. You may feel like you want to be alone. You may feel like you are giving up on all the amazing things you’ve been doing.
Nothing. Has. Gone. Wrong.
This is very normal.
This happens when your nervous system is used to being in one of the two survival states and ventral feels way too vulnerable for your nervous system. It doesn’t feel protected.
Listen to the full episode to learn all the details about why and how this is happening.
